IELTS Academic

IELTS academic determines your level of English needed for an academic-level study at a university. If you are planning to study at a university then you should take the academic IELTS exam.

IELTS academic lasts for approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes.

  • Listening (30 minutes) consists of four distinct parts, and there are forty questions. You  have ten minutes extra time to transfer your answers onto the answer sheet after the listening test.

  • Reading (60 minutes) consists of three passages, and there are forty questions. Unlike the listening exam-- after the reading exam-- you will not be given any extra time to transfer your answers onto the answer sheet.

  • Writing (60 minutes) consists of two distinct parts. The first section takes 20 minutes, and you will be asked to write a 150-word  report. In the first part, a graph, map, diagram or table is given. On the other hand, the second part takes 40 minutes, and you need to write a 250-word essay.

  • Speaking (11-14 minutes) consists of three parts, and you must speak with an examiner face-to-face.
